Server permissions and the DJ role
Organize who controls music and separate server permissions from Premium benefits.
Three separate checks
The bot needs Discord permissions, your account needs access to the feature and the session must be in a compatible state. Purchasing a plan does not replace server permissions or turn a stopped session into an active queue.
Configure a dedicated role
A member with management permissions can use /dj role and select a server role. Choose a dedicated role such as DJ instead of distributing administrator access. Check /dj status to review the state and use /dj enable or /dj disable only when you intend to change the control policy.
Assign it only to people who should modify the session. Before an event, test with an account that has the role and one that does not. This checks the rules without changing every server permission.
When a control is blocked
Read the message: being in another voice channel, lacking the DJ role and lacking a Premium benefit are different causes. Also check whether the bot can view the channel, connect and speak. Category permissions can differ from those of the channel used for testing.
If a server is missing from the dashboard, confirm your Discord account, that Tainy is installed and that the account has management access. Do not share your session with another person; change their Discord permissions when appropriate.
Keep the test reversible
Note the selected role before changing it. Do not delete /setup channels to fix a DJ restriction. See the command catalog for current options and Contact if the message does not match your configuration.
