What to check when you cannot hear Tainy
Separate permissions, volume, session state and availability without deleting your setup.
Start with the symptom
If /play does not reply, check your Discord connection and that it is a Tainy command. If it replies but does not connect, check the voice channel. If it connects and progress advances silently, check volume and mute states. Identify which case applies before changing configuration.
1. Confirm the session
Join the bot's voice channel and check /nowplaying and /queue. On the website, confirm that you selected that server rather than another one. Check whether playback is paused before adding tracks. Explore controls Discord; it does not turn the browser into an independent audio player.
2. Check audio and permissions
Check Discord output volume and the bot's individual volume. Check whether Tainy was server-muted. An administrator can review View Channel, Connect and Speak, including category and channel restrictions. Do not give everyone administrator access to test an audio issue.
3. Compare a second track
Try a clear artist-and-title query. If one song fails while another works, keep the first track's link: it may be a wrong match or provider availability issue. Avoid dozens of repeated requests; duplicates may accumulate.
4. Prepare a useful report
Include the command, track, affected server, approximate time and visible message. A screenshot helps if you hide personal information. Never share tokens, cookies, access codes or complete configuration files.
